However, sex differences can also impact various biological systems, such as the cornea of the eye. 2) The historical use of mostly male animals in research has had negative consequences since it only looks at the male data, so the treatments and medications obviously do not work well for women. Female patients have to experience more side effects. 3) The fact that many of the intersex surgeries were done without informed consent was due to the stereotypes of how each gender should look. As humans, we are still unable to discover many things that happen inside our bodies, so why do we have to categorize everything and force others to follow it? Hopefully, a better understanding of sex and gender can be shared so that we can value the variations and not try to correct them
