Rather than continuing to manage a chronic problem, adaptive leaders address the root of the issue and try to find a solution that will interrupt the problem before it fully develops (Heifetz et al., 2009). One of the multimedia sources from this week talked about the systemic change that happens in prisons when, rather than trying to continuously put out fires, leaders work to prevent them (TEDx Talks, 2014). Following this semester, I will strive to be this type of leader; I want to seek innovative solutions that eliminate persistent problems and help the organization and its employees thrive
