The cherry picking example I'm going with is when Colgate had ads that said "80% of dentists recommend Colgate". On its face it makes it seem like of all toothpastes, 80% of dentists say Colgate is the best. But this is misleading and it cherry picks information to make it seem better than it is. When dentists were asked the question "which toothpaste brands would you recommend?" Dentists replied with several brands and if they listed Colgate at all, it was apart of the 80%. It didn't even have to be thier top pick, they just had to mention it. Here is the article I found on it. https://wpdatatables.com/misleading-statistics/

As with most politics in modern day society, I will direct our attention to what our economy looks like. During a press release by President Mr. Biden on January 19th, the topic of employee wages was considered. Mr. Biden stated that wages of employees has increased immensely, seen especially in the 40% lower-class employees. While wages may have increased indeed, this doesn't put aside the fact that the country is facing inflation in many of its markets. While wages are going up, so are prices, which pretty much makes this statement futile and useless. In reality, the wages which he specifies have only gone along with the current situation in which our economy is in, barely able to support our country's citizens. The "Cherry Picking" example that I'm going to use is from a review for the "Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury" boxing match. Right away in the article I could tell that the writer doesn't like Jake Paul because they used the word "fledgling" to define his boxing skills. The writer also said that Tommy Fury was the "more productive fighter" throughout the bout just because he swung more punches. What he didn't take into consideration was the percentage of punches landed. Tommy fury landed 29% of the punches thrown, while Jake Paul landed 31%. It also talks about Carls Froch's opinion on Jake Paul losing the fight. (Carl Froch is a Hall of Fame fighter) He said, "He can't call himself a professional boxer because he's gone in against a novice pro and got absolutely whooped." This shows cherry picking on Carl Froch's end because he used the word "novice" to define Tommy Fury, when in reality, Tommy has been boxing since he was a child and before the fight against Jake, was 8-0 in his pro career.
