COLLAPSE 1. An interaction I participated in today was learning something new at work that I have never done before, where I used impression management. My front stage was paying attention, asking questions, and taking pictures of what I had to do. Since I have never done it, and making sure it was done correctly made me a little nervous. My work is very particular about how everything is done, which made me worry. My backstage was overthinking, I thought I kept doing it wrong, and went up to a different coworker and asked if I was doing it right. Having these impression management skills showed me that I care about my job and want to work(? my full potential. 2. A time I couldn't manage an impression was when I was helping my dad at my family business, and when he was explaining that I needed to work faster, I got frustrated and upset with him. I was in front of his employers, and they saw that I got upset. Even though they laughed it off, I still felt bad for doing that to my dad in front of his employees, and I felt very unprofessional. I also gave a bad first impression of myself by doing that on my first day. Next time, I learned that I need to think before I do so that I don't give a bad first impression. If I can not control myself, I would ask to speak privately and ask what I can do to fix my mistakes. Reply
