As a first$-$time user of Apache Ambari and Hive, I approached this project with no prior experience with these tools. My primary task was to discover, analyze, and model the data provided by ANT$$s infrastructure, which included sensors$,$ GPS devices, and telematics. Using Ambari, I managed the data flow into Hive, where it could be queried and analyzed for compliance insights.

One challenge I faced while using Ambari was adjusting the permissions field for Hive database access. Initially, I encountered errors that prevented the data from being written to the appropriate tables. This issue arose because the default permissions were too restrictive, blocking the integration process. To resolve this, I went looked up Ambari$$s user role configurations and adjusted the permissions in the Ambari UI to align with the required access levels for my data pipelines. After applying these changes and verifying them, I successfully loaded the data into Hive for analysis.

During my assessment of the data in Exercise $2,$ one key discovery was how telematics data highlighted speeding trends across specific routes and drivers. For example, routes through California's urban highways exhibited higher speeding incidents compared to rural areas.

This insight is particularly beneficial to the business because it allows ANT to address compliance risks proactively. By identifying drivers or regions with frequent violations, ANT can implement targeted training programs, optimize routing, or install additional safety measures like real$-$time alerts. These actions not only improve compliance with FMCSA regulations but also reduce the likelihood of accidents and insurance claims, ultimately supporting ANT$$s operational and risk management goals.
