Do you find it easier to convert within the metric system like this, or between metric and U.S. customary units (like grams to ounces or meters to feet)? Also, how do you keep track of prefixes like micro-, milli-, and giga-? I still double-check the power-of-ten chart sometimes to make sure I'm moving the decimal in the right direction.
