The subject of capital punishment is a tough one, and there are many different opinions on it. I would like to think that there are methods of capital punishment that would actually deter people from crimes such as murder. Personally, I feel like the best deterrent is to make capital punishment more painful and more timely. If someone were killed in the same way in which they killed their victim, such as by strangling them to death, I think perpetrators would think twice before committing serious offenses. No one likes to be tortured and most of the murders that take place are done in violent ways, They are hardly ever committed in a peaceful fashion, although the punishment for them is. A lethal injection seems like a very easy way to die compared to how most murder victims die.

Since capital punishment typically takes an average of ten years to be carried out, I am convinced there has to be a better way to expedite the process. I believe that these methods of dealing with murderers would be the best deterrent possible and we would see a decrease in the number of them being committed and possibly even the method used to kill their victim.
