reply to this I predict that Gilligan's Cruise Lines operates more on a mechanistic structure as they are a large cruise line. In a mechanistic structure, things are more rigid, departmentalized, and have a narrower span of control. The formalization on this cruise would be higher. With a bigger ship, higher volume of people and staff, more rules, regulations and polices, things would need to be put in place beforehand to ensure things run smoothly. The Love Boat Cruise Line is my guess for the more organic structure. In an organic structure, the span of control is wider which allows for more teams to be formed, departmentalization is looser, and formalization is lower. Having less people aboard, things would be easier to handle situations as they arise, as opposed to having a more rigid structure and things already in place
