Report 1: Defining the project The assignment follows a "case study" approach. The assignment can be done as member of a team or individually. The study starts by selecting a specific organization with presence in the region economy. The author(s) must have access to primary sources of data about the organization. Thereafter, the author(s) identifies and study the different elements of the business model of the case in the context of the global economy. The simplicity in term of side and complexity of the organization is expected. If not, a serious study of the case becomes out of reach to this course. Scenario: The assumption is that the author(s) provide professional technical support to an organization. The organizations could be of any nature, public, private, for profit, none profit. The author(s) are free about selecting the organization, but the organization must be part of the regional economy. We assume the powers that be need information about the economics of the business models of the selected organization in the context of the global economy. The purpose of the study is to search and submit a final report that provides hard data and analytical support to the decision making process of the powers that be. The study: 1) Identification of a local business; it can be for profit or none profit, private or public 2) Study of the local and global markets affecting the operations of the identified local business 3) Study of the none economic factor affecting the operation of the business 4) Study of the sustainability of the organization in the context of globalization The Report: a) Authorship: Teamwork members, or individual b) Proposal of a local business model for case study c) Feasibility of the case study proposed c) Discussion of the case and clearance by the instructor Expectations: Pertinence of the case Clarity of the case Defined authorship Score value: The activity counts as 10% of the Post-test
