Your assignment in module will put all of your work together. For your assignment, you can create either a Word document or a PowerPoint presentation that shows your ability to conduct research and present information and findings effectively.
Instructions
Your research project needs to be focused on a public health crisis and the impact on the local economy in your geographic area. The goal of this project is to communicate what you have learned about the local economic impact of the public health crisis. You will complete the following steps in fulfilling this assignment.
Section 1: Select a Topic
The topic must be related to a public health crisis and the impact on the local economy. Your topic needs to be school appropriate, and you need to address why you selected this topic.
Section 2: State your Research Question
Develop a research question from the topic. Once you have the topic selected, you need to develop a research question. If you remember, this module introduced the criteria that a good research question needs. Make sure to use these criteria to develop a research question.
Section 3: Generate Keywords
Generate keywords that you can use to find information in the topic. Remember that you cant use full sentences to effectively search. You need to develop keywords from the research question.
Section 4: Databases and Websites
List all of the databases and websites you used to gather information. You are required to use two scholarly sources and two non-scholarly sources.
Section 5: Summary of Scholarly Source #1
In your summary, you need to name each source individually, include information on how data was collected, the main points of the source, and how this source helps answer your research question. You also need to provide an evaluation of the reliability of that source.
Section 6: Summary of Scholarly Source #2
In your summary, you need to name each source individually, include information on how data was collected, the main points of the source, and how this source helps answer your research question. You also need to provide an evaluation of the reliability of that source using the IF I APPLY acronym.
Section 7: Summary of Non-Scholarly Sources
Create a summary of the two non-scholarly sources you used for information to help you answer your research question. Include the main point of each source and your evaluation of the reliability of the source using lateral searching.
Section 8: Write a Conclusion
Write a conclusion that synthesizes all of the sources you used to help you answer your research question. This conclusion should be one to two paragraphs.
