A case study is a short document helping the readers to analyse and compare with his/her own context and situation.
Specifically, the case studies must be one of two types:
- Narrative Case: An account of a curriculum process. Interesting narrative cases are stories with a lesson.
- Descriptive Case: a description of a curriculum product or practice. Interesting descriptive cases are models.

The ideal length of the case would be about 8 to 10 pages, A4 size, Font Times New Roman/Arial 12, 1.5 lines spaced. Use Harvard style for referencing.
A narrative case approximately follows this script:
This is about a change in (place) that happened in (year)
The context in that year was characterized by (a situation, challenges and opportunities)
Somebody (a particular person, an institution, a government agency) decided that a change was needed because (problem description, rationale).
The process to introduce the suggested changes was (design steps)
The steps of the implementation were and the consequences
The lessons learned during the process were that
A suggested balance of the space devoted to each section could be:
1. Context the general framework, what was going on in the society, societal tensions, political and economic issues.
2. Educational problems and issues the educational problem as perceived, the challenges that had to be faced, particular situations that enables to start a change
3. Decision-making process who took action, who participated in the process, who opposed the change.
4. Current state of the implementation the current phase of the implementation, e.g. if it is in the planning stage, or piloting stage, roll-out or full implementation.
5. Results, intended and not intended positive effects of change, unintended results, good and bad reactions to change.
6. Lessons learned what were the most effective measures, what could have been done differently.
