Research Project

Purpose

This research project will emphasize your knowledge of several topics including SWOT analysis, strategic goals, financial data $($including a balance sheet and income statement$),$ stock analysis, and market summary $($analyzing total revenue numbers$).$ Please select a company that interests you, as you will work on this project throughout the semester. You must select a company $($and its two competitors$)$ that is publicly traded on either the New York Stock Exchange $($NYSE$)$ or NASDAQ. If you select a company that is not, you will not be able to complete multiple sections of this project.

This research project is a culmination of the knowledge you$$ve gained on several topics throughout the semester.

Research Project Content and Requirements

Section Title Requirements

$1.$ Company History Your company history must include the following: current company mission statement, current company values, and complete company history. A complete company history includes one that covers the main events of the company from inception to now. There should be no large gaps in the $$timeline$$ of events. In other words, if your company history has an important event listed in $1960$ and the next event in your timeline isn$$t until $1985,$ that$$s too large of a gap $($something important had to have happened during this $25-$year window$).$ This section should be at least two full pages.

$2.$ SWOT Analysis Your SWOT analysis is an analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of your main company and two of its competitors. You must have at least four bullet points for each of the four categories for each company. This information must be put into chart form.
