Rationale Explains your reason for undertaking this study, what your aims are and what you hope to achieve at the end. In particular, why you think this subject is worthy of study. Be clear ahout what you want to find out and why. 3. Background Reading An analytical summary of your reading $0 far and any key textbooks and journal articles etc. that you intend to usc. together with details of any preliminary research that you have already begun (c.g. research on the Web). Your dissertation will include a literature review so you should begin to assess the most important authors who have carried out work in your area of study. 4. Research Methodology What philosophical approach of approaches will you use? Describe how you intend to conduct your research. 5. Timetable State how you plan to allocate your time.
