Researchers want to investigate whether a treatment (a drug treatment) reduces the

symptoms associated with COVID-19. 1,200 men between the ages of 24 and 71 are

recruited as participants and 1, 320 women between the ages of 28 and 92 are

recruited as participants. The men and women are divided randomly into two groups.

One group will receive the drug treatment and the other group will take a placebo.

Each person takes the treatment for three days, but they do not know whether they

are taking the treatment or the placebo. At the end of the study, researchers count

the number of men and women in each group who do not have reduced symptoms of
