This is with the goal of getting the most out of available resources while working within the projects scope, cost, and time constraints. Delaying the start date of a project is a good example of resource levelling.

Schedule crashing can be defined as a project compression method in which one brings in additional resources to complete two tasks simultaneously. The primary goal of schedule crashing is to get a project completed earlier at the least cost and impact by bringing the end date forward (Feylizadeh et al., 2018). A schedule crashing is beneficial to a project whose the planned completion date is deemed unrealistic based on the current plan.

Schedule fast tracking is a project management technique used to speed project completion date to make up for the lost time. For instance, project managers could use the technique to fast track projects execution date to meet a changed delivery date, shorten completion date of a project with missed milestones, or achieve a competitive advantage without scope changes.
