Evaluate a recorded presentation using the Evaluation Rubric $($opens in a new window$)$ with which your own presentation will be evaluated.

Before searching for a video to assess, please carefully review the Evaluation Rubric $($opens in a new window$)$ and the presentation Evaluating Presentations $[$ORIGINAL MEDIA$].$

Once you are comfortable with the aspects of the rubric and what specifically is being assessed, begin searching for a presentation online to evaluate. YouTube is a popular source for presentations. Search for a presentation whose entire length is $510$ minutes, and for which you have both an audio and video source $($audio$-$only presentations will not work$).$

Watch the presentation from beginning to end, paying careful attention to the speaker$$s message, the organization of the presentation, sources for the information within the presentation, and verbal and nonverbal cues. You may need to view the presentation multiple times to get an accurate picture of the speaking event, or to observe different parts of the presentation in detail.

In your post:

Fill out the evaluation rubric for your chosen speech and attach the completed rubric to your post.

Provide a link to the speech you evaluated.

Answer the following questions:

What was the speaker$$s main message or purpose for speaking? What were the speaker$$s main points?

What organizational techniques did the speaker use? Evaluate the effectiveness of the speech's structure, with particular attention to the introduction and conclusion.

Did the speaker use accurate $($credible$)$ and appropriate sources of information as support for their main points? Did the speaker provide verbal citations for their sources? Overall, was the speech adequately supported by credible sources?

Was the speaker$$s delivery effective? What, in particular, was effective, and what could be improved?

What qualities did you observe in this speech that you could use in your own presentation?
