At my former workplace, we conducted employee reviews annually, coinciding with the state inspection period due to our status as a healthcare facility. Although we underwent regular training every few months, our review process included a more hands-on approach. A nurse would shadow each employee for several shifts, observing our interactions and care practices with patients. This allowed them to identify consistent behaviors and areas needing improvement. After these shadow shifts, the nurse would provide us with constructive criticism or additional training if necessary. I found this method of performance review and feedback highly beneficial, as it consistently helped me improve my job performance
