• Take a moment to think about what it would take to motivate you to achieve your goals at work; which theory would you use and why?

One of my goals at work is to become the Vice-President of the Human Resources Department in a year. The theory that I would use to motivate this goal is the Goal-Setting Theory. This theory will Establish my definite, hard, and achievable objectives and provide me with a unique feeling of purpose and focus. If I am aware of the expectations and can monitor my advancement, it maintains my focus and vitality. Attaining simple accomplishments enhances my trust and strengthens my willingness to persist.

• Reflect on an experience you had with a person at work or with a family or friend who needed to be motivated. How would you motivate them to achieve their goals? Which motivational theory would you use and why?

I have a colleague who has recently relocated to the area and is residing with family members. We exchange experiences regarding our current experiences. His primary objective is to improve his credit and secure his residence by the spring or summer of 2025. We have discussed methods for encouraging him to save and improve his credit. One method involved establishing a savings account with a direct deposit of a specified amount into the account. Another objective was to download Credit Karma and perform a review after 30 or 60 days. This motivation I implemented in him was of Self-Efficacy Theory by providing encouragement and subdividing the activity into more doable components. I emphasized their prior achievements and skills, which enhanced their confidence in their potential for success. By bolstering their self-esteem, they accomplished their task efficiently and felt more emboldened in future tasks.
