Hello classmates my name is Ryan. My harvesting "note" comes from my hometown, Lexington, Ohio. When I was growing up, there was a large plant in Lexington that stook out like a sore thumb. It was always weird seeing a bright blue plant in the middle of nowhere. I did not really know what it was until high school, when I learned that it was a plastic producing plant, and it was growing rapidly. I went to rival high schools with the owner's son, and found out after talking with him how much the business was worth. Before I knew it, Next Generation Films was buying land and putting up more buildings left and right. They were generating over $250 million a year, and almost could not handle the volume of orders. Next Generation Films is the industry leading film maker, making products for food, industries, healthcare, consumer goods, and converter films. By my senior year, the owner ended up selling the business to Charter NEX Films for $1.07 Billion. They ended up going with a harvesting strategy because they were already a cash cow and did not need to invest much more into the company. They are still growing and thriving to this day, and I know many people who have made a great career from working there.
