Schindler was appointed to render the service, repair and maintenance of lifts for a period of 12 months.

Project execution plan to repair the lifts was send by Schinder as per information.

Schindler they are waiting for parts that they order to repair the lifts

Sibande@dpw.gov.za Dear Mr Sibande REQUEST FOR INTERVENTION FROM THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR GENERAL: PMTE OF DPWI REGARDING THE FIXING OF LIFTS AT HARVEST HOUSE AND AGRICULTURE PLACE BUILDING. Harvest House building and Agriculture Place building are DALRRD offices located in Arcadia. Harvest House building is five (05) storey building. Accessibility is through three (03) passenger lifts and one (01) goods lift. Agriculture Place building is a one (01) storey building. There are three lifts at Agriculture Place Building. All three passenger lifts at Harvest House and overhead bridge at Agriculture Place are broken and Schindler lifts have switched off the lifts since they are struggling to get them operational. Countless calls were logged and still the lifts are not fixed. Lift number PE3780 is out of order for more than five (05) years. At Harvest House, officials are using goods lifts which is not reliable and a host of them are using steps fearing to get stuck inside the goods lifts. The last complaint for the four lifts was made on the 18 April 2024 with the following eferences: DPWI reference ID-3198669. A call was also made to Schindler on the same day for the same lifts with the following references: 6751180. The overhead bridge 21/250 with reference 675143133. The lifts are still not operational
