Review a different classmate's post and consider their real-world context. Address all of the following items. No explanations may be taken directly word for word from another source.
- explain to your classmate what is required for a walk to be a Hamiltonian path or cycle.
- Identify one sequence of vertices that makes either a Hamiltonian path or a Hamiltonian cycle.
- Based on the context of your classmate's situation modeled by the graph, think about whether it would be most practical to seek a Euler trail or circuit versus a Hamiltonian path or cycle. Which one do you think would be more useful in your classmate's situation and why?
classmates response:
This graph is meant to represent my daily tasks. Every day I wake up and I have to care for the animals. Most days I go straight to work after caring for the animals, but on my days off I go straight to doing schoolwork. Some days after work, if I don't have any schoolwork, I go straight into "me time" and get ready for bed. It always loops back to me waking up and getting ready. This is a circuit because it is a closed path, and no edge occurs more than once.
A= Wake up, get ready
B= Care for animals
C= Work
D= Schoolwork
E= Get ready for bed
