Review Articles and Resources in the Week 8 Folder. HR technology - sometimes called E-HR - describes hardware-, software-, web- and cloud-based, programmed, machine-learned and/or artificial-intelligence based- facilitation and automation of HR functions, activities and business processes. These tools are significantly improving and accelerating decision making, processes, and operational efficiencies and can ultimately contribute to better profitability and organizational success. From remployee attendance, to rewards, leadership due diligence, time and attendance, talent acquisition and management, benefits administration, employee payroll, employee communications, performance management, data and analytics and workforce analytics, learning, engagement, well-being and everything in between, HR technology is evolving rapidly and growing exponentially. HR professionals need to update their views of their roles, as we must not only be expert in HR skills and knowledge, but also in relevant technology, because organizations need to, as examples: HR is evolving into a technology-based profession because organizations need to, among other things: -Streamline HR processes, reducing administrative burdens and costs, enabling HR to channel efforts and passion towards a more strategic role in the business, focussing on creativity, problem-solving and innovation. - Compete more effectively for talent, creating a workforce with the capabilities required now and in the future. - Improve compliance, service, information, accessibility and transparency for employees and managers, creating improved employee satisfaction and engagement and helping decision-makers manage the workforce more effectively. HR professionals must not only be expert in HR skills and knowledge, but also in the relevant technology. - After reviewing some of the materials, reflect on your own experience with HR and Technology and answer the following questions: -What do you consider to be the most important "opportunity" for technology, whether identified in the materials or not? Be specific. - Is it urgent that technology disrupt standard practices in this realm? - Are there any risks or draw-backs? - Are organizations prioritizing this type of opportunity and if so, how? Explain and support your opinion with evidence. REPLY to this post with your personal reflection and research-based opinion. Reply to at least one reflection of your peers.
