Revisit a problem from Section 2.3 in your textbook and use calculus to find the optimal value of the function; in your initial post, discuss how this changed your approach to the problem. When responding to your classmates, describe a situation not related to this course where it would be useful to know where a function was at its highest. For general instructions about content discussions in this course, see the Discussions in this Course item in the Course Information section. Revisiting this problem using calculus I was able to find the optimal value which was -6.6. This changed my approach to the problem because I know now how to find the optimal value using the vertex. The optimal value is going to be where the Parabola is at either its highest or lowest points on the y axis, and this is good to know as it can help you check your work if you are unsure if you have the correct vertex.
