Risk management in events is a very important part of the planning and operational process. It is one of those areas that most people tend to take for granted until something tragic like this happens. But it is also very important to remember that risk management also includes considering small issues that could come up in addition to these large occurrences. This includes things such as alcohol service plans, ticket management, safe food handling, crowd control, ingress/egress, sanitation, and restroom access. This is by no means all of the considerations but these are common issues that must be addressed in the event management process. To piggyback off our in-class discussions, let's suppose you are the head event planner for the city of Kennesaw Parks and Recreation department and you are working on a new event plan for a Christmas in July event. Walk us through your planning process and what you think are the most important details to consider in creating this event. This could be risk management issues but it could also be other parts of the planning process. Why do you think that these are the most important details to consider?
