s: Read the author's response and evaluate their answer. What are your thoughts or opinions? Do you agree or disagree? Why or why not? What can you add or suggest to extend the discussion? Rereading my first post helped me realize how much I have learned this semester although I certainly remain a novice researcher. I do feel that a mixed-methods approach has value, particularly in educational research. Creswell & Plano Clark state that a mixed-methods approach frees the researcher to use all methods available to answer a research question. That sentiment resonates with me and I like the concept of trying to answer a research question with all of the tools at my disposal. Furthermore, I have learned that mixed methods can be an extremely rigorous research design as the collection and analysis of the two strands of data are required. Each data strand needs to be carefully analyzed following the appropriate protocols. After careful analysis, the integration of the data strands can occur. Integrating the data in order to illustrate a more complete picture of the research problem is the centerpiece of mixed methods research (Creswell & Plano Clark, 2018). Additionally, I do feel that mixed methods have substantial value as a research methodology however feasibility may be difficult I think the feasibility may be difficult because mixed methods can be a lengthy process, requiring vast amounts of data, access to participants over an extended amount of time, and experienced researchers
