Server $1$ is running $5$ SLES VMs$.$ Server $2$ is running $7$ SLES VMs$.$ You$$d think it would be easy to just count up the VMs and divide by $2$ to account for socket pairs$$in this case, $12$ VMs divided by $2$ would be $6$ subscriptions. You need to stop dividing by $2.$ It doesn$$t matter how many socket pairs are involved. It only matters how many VMs are running. So $5$ plus $7$ would be $12$ subscriptions.

You can$$t count across servers. You have to count each server separately.

Because we sell by socket pairs, you have to round uneven numbers to the next even number. Server $1$ counts as $6$ sockets, not $5.$ Server $2$ counts as $8$ sockets, not $7.$ That$$s $14$ sockets divided by $2,$ which equals $7.$

You have to count VMs for the entire environment as a single stack. It doesn$$t matter which server the VMs are running on$$it$\text{'}$s the total count that matter
