Facilities at a Hyper Store Warehouse

The large hyper store warehouse at which Jan works has a loading dock to load and unload merchandise from and onto trucks. It is one of the largest warehouses of its kind in the country. There is an overhead crane, which is hand$-$operated and which assists in moving the heavier or more cumbersome goods. Stacking is also done by means of batteryoperated forklifts for the heavier, bigger$-$scale merchandise $($for example, domestic appliances and some electronics$)$ and the use of portable platform ladders for the lighter merchandise $($for example, certain foodstuffs$).$ Merchandise is usually placed on standard pallets and loaded into pallet racks or directly onto the shelves on the stacks. There are fourteen aisles of bonded stacks that reach a maximum height of six metres. Think of any hyper store in the country and that is the range and diversity of merchandise that is stored, most of which comes pre$-$packaged in plastic or foam from suppliers, whilst some if it also comes packed in differentsized cardboard boxes. The warehouse consist of $149$ employees.

Issue $3$: Occupational Medicine

The warehouse has picked up a trend that most picking staff are complaining of aching, numbness and pain in their arms when moving materials. Why do you think this is so$?$ Provide two specific CTDs that could be diagnosed due to such complaints. Substantiate why each CTD may arise due to this work. Do NOT use vague examples. Suggest a solution to prevent further complaints for each of the $2$ CTDs$.$
