Scenario FourMonica is a personal care worker working the evening shift for Southern Cross Home and Community Care Program. Tonight she sees her last client at 20:00 hrs (8:00 pm) and spends about 45 minutes assisting the client to bed. This particular client gets very upset if the workers come too early as she doesn't like to have her favouritetelevision program interrupted. Tonight, Monica is 15 minutes early and having previously had the client shout at her about arriving before the allocated time, she decides to wait until exactly 8:00 pm before she goes in.Monica parks the car in her usual spot under a giant fig tree, three houses away from the client's home. Monicaopens the car door to let the breeze in, while she completes some documentation for the previous client. Shechecks her watch. She still has 10 minutes to spare, so she gets out of the car, leaving the window down to keepthe car cool and walks up the street to look at the lights in a tropical garden she has admired during the daytime. At 20:00hrs Monica arrives at the client's front door and thinks about how dark it is with all the overgrown bushesand the blown front door light. She rings the doorbell and waits. The door is opened by the client's grandsonwho smells strongly of alcohol. Monica enters the lounge and finds a couple of young men watching televisionwith the client. There are multiple empty bottles of beer spread out across the floor. One of the young mengrabs Monica as she passes and she shouts at him to keep his hands to himself. Monica spends the next 45minutes keeping a watchful eye on the bedroom door, while completing her allocated duties. When Monica finishes putting her client to bed, she creeps down the hallway to the front door and silently lets herself out. She sighs with relief as she goes back out to her car and rummages through her handbag for the car keys. She gets in and drives back to the office, thinking she will not tell her supervisor about the young men, as she handled the situation perfectly well on her own. 1.Identify and list all the potential safety risks that the disability support worker, Monica, was exposed to. 2.For each risk identified, write what Monica should have done to keep herself safe Scenario FourMonica is a personal care worker working the evening shift for Southern Cross Home and Community Care Program.
