Scientists are testing a new thin-film coating that has an index of refraction that is less than that of glass. They deposit a 280-nm -thick layer on glass and then measure the reflectivities for different wavelengths of incident light. The reflectivity is a maximum when the wavelength is 400 nm , and it steadily decreases as the wavelength is increased until it first reaches a minimum when the wavelength is 533 nm
