Question: SE 2 1 2 - Exercise ( 1 2 ) Question One ( a ) Convert quadrant bearing to whole circle bearing: ( b )

SE 212- Exercise (12)
Question One
(a) Convert quadrant bearing to whole circle bearing:
(b) Convert the whole circle bearing to quadrant bearing
Question Two
Stadia-hairs leveling instrument at station (A) was used to take the following readings (m) on a
vertical staff, (1.32-2.015-2.71) at station (B). Then the instrument at station (A) was used to
take the following readings (m) on a vertical staff, (1.897-2.895-3.893) at station (C).
Compute the horizontal distances between station (A) and the two stations (B) and (C). Also find
the level of the two stations (B) and (C) if the level of station (A) is 28.48m and the height of
line of sight above ground is 1.22m.
Question Three
A theodolite was temporary adjusted at station Q. The graduated staff was held vertically at
station P followed by station R.
Staff readings, vertical angles and horizontal circle readings were recorded at station Q as below:
(height of instrument =1.50m)
Compute:
1- Horizontal ground distance QP.
2- Horizontal ground distance QR.
3- Horizontal angle PQR.
4- Horizontal ground distance PR.
5- Difference in level between P and R.
Question Four
(i) From your experience during the course, mention all the surveying instruments that you are
aware of and their type of observations?
(ii) Mention two surveying instruments that can be used for measuring stations' coordinates?
