Discussion 1 (Law):

Please describe the basic framework for the US Constitution. What are Articles 1-7 and what is the primary function of each article (you can summarize here.) What is meant by the term "Bill of Rights"? What specific rights are contained in each amendment contained in the Bill of Rights? Be specific and be sure to list each and every right in each amendment.

Section 2: Choose a Show (Jornal 6, Work) Pick a current TV drama or sitcom where work is part of the characters' lives. Watch an episode and take notes about the characters' jobs and lifestyle.

1. Reflect on the Characters' Work and Lifestyle In your journal address the following:
   • What do we learn about work and money? Think about the lessons the show might be teaching us about what work and making a living look like.
   • How did they get their jobs? We rarely see how TV characters land their jobs or what kind of training or experience got them there. Reflect on whether this show gives any hints about how the characters got into that line of work or those specific positions.
   • Standard of Living: TV characters often seem to live pretty extravagant lifestyles, sometimes way beyond what their job would realistically allow. Give examples from the episode you watched. Think about it, do the characters seem to live beyond their means? Could real people working similar jobs afford the same lifestyle?
   • Career Goals: How do these characters influence the way we think about our own careers? Do they set unrealistic expectations or shape how we think about what certain jobs or lifestyles should look like?

Section 3:

Step 1: Play the Game (Discussion spent) Visit the Spent websiteLinks to an external site. and go through the scenarios to see how long you can make it without running out of money.

Step 2: Do a Blog Post After completing the activity, think about how the economy affects wages and the impact that has on society. In your blog post respond to the following prompt: "I think the minimum wage in our state should be ______, because..."

• Provide evidence and examples to support your opinion.
• Include at least one link to a relevant news article that backs up your claim.

Step 3: Engage with Classmates In your reply, consider their perspective on minimum wage and how it compares to your own views.
