Answer ALL the questions in this section. A major project is about to begin in your organization and you have been selected to address the monitoring and evaluation aspects of the project. You project executives requested you to present to them key issues about monitoring and evaluations. A meeting has been scheduled and in the meeting you are were asked the following-

QUESTION 1 (20 MARKS)

Define the concepts of monitoring and evaluation and indicate the focus and aim of each to your (20 Marks) project executives. In your discussions give reasons why monitoring and evaluations must be done for each project and state what monitoring and evaluations as valuable tools of project management can bring to each project.

Question 2 (20 Marks) Describe the use of baseline data in monitoring and specify various focus areas of monitoring in project execution. Detail the various types of monitoring to the project executives so that they can understand what each type entail.

Question 3 (20 Marks) Discuss any seven (7) types of evaluation that you are aware of and state two (2) advantages and one (1) disadvantages of both internal and external evaluations to the project.
