SECTION B: CASE STUDY $(30$ Marks$)$ Case Study: Supply Chain Dilemmas at Royal Home Appliances $($Pty$)$ Ltd$)$ Royal Home Appliances $($RHA$)$ is a rapidly growing South African appliance manufacturer operating across sub$-$Saharan Africa. The company has historically relied on manual inventory tracking and isolated forecasting systems. With increasing customer complaints about delivery delays, overstocking of unpopular items, and understocking of high$-$demand products, senior management decided to invest in a new ERP system. However, poor change management and resistance from operations staff have delayed the system$$s rollout. Compounding the challenge, the company is under public scrutiny after an expos$$ highlighted product quality issues and unsafe working conditions at one of its Gauteng warehouses. While RHA$$s leadership champions a lean philosophy and TQM framework, little has been done to embed these practices across functions. Furthermore, the company has failed to align its aggregate planning process with demand forecasts and supply capabilities, especially during seasonal peaks like Black Friday. As pressure from stakeholders and competition intensifies, RHA must now re$-$evaluate its operational systems, quality control mechanisms, and human resource design to restore its performance and reputation.
