SECTION B: COMPULSORY CASE STUDY Sopheap Onn has been working in Vattanac Bank in Phnom Penh for 6 years as a loan and credit officer. He is careful, hard-working, disciplined, and ideas contributor in the company. He expected a higher salary with better benefits, good feedback and next promotion from the recommendations from his direct manager, Madame Rany. However, he found out that the person who got promoted was his good friend and co-worker, Chira Bunleng and was closed to Madame Rany. He believes that Chira's promotion is not based on his performance and skill. Instead, Sopheap strongly believes that his own skill, knowledge and competencies are much higher than that of Chira. His perception was that Madame Rany intentionally bypassed his promotion in favor of Chira because he is her favorite subordinate as he never refused any work assigned to him. Having this perception, Sopheap began to change from a positive attitude to a negative attitude towards his boss. His work behavior also dramatically began to change over the next few weeks and the symptoms include withdrawal from pleasant activities and relationships, self-imposed isolation, tardiness, irritability, and deterioration of performance.
