Find the Forces in a Truss

Working graphically from the load line that is provided, find the magnitudes and

characters of the forces in all the members of this truss. Take special care to be

precise in your analysis of the right half of the truss. Remember that some members

may have zero forces.

Explain the difference in the pattern of member forces in the two halves of the

truss. Make a small drawing of the truss that shows only the members that contain

forces.

How do you suppose the form for the right$-$hand half of the truss was found?

If a solid beam of the same longitudinal profile were loaded as shown above, would

there be web forces $($so$-$called "shear" forces$)$ in the right$-$hand half? Why or why not?
