Some important elements to consider (don't hesitate to cover more elements if relevant):

• How do you characterize this technology (function, principle of operation, performance, etc.)?
• Where does it stand on social preferences (safety, health, environment, etc.)?
• Where does it fit in the Van Wyks 9 cell matrix? (process, transport, store / matter, energy, information). If it is a composite technology, perform this analysis for the key components.
• Whats the competitive impact of this technology? (emerging, pacing, etc)
• Where does it fit on the maturity S curve?
• Was it primarily pushed by R&D or pulled by the market?
• Where do you see this technology in 10 years? Will it likely be replaced?
• Any information on the innovation process that lead to this technology?
• Intellectual property considerations (patents)?

This essay should be 2 pages maximum (not including the references), 11pts font, single spaced. Cite any reference material that you have used.
