Seneca college wants to set a new building for a new program, Artificial Intelligence. The building will have Faculty, Registrar, Secretaries, and Students divisions. You are an IT Technician, have been assigned to set the switches for the building. There are three main switches as access switches and two core switches for redundancy to distribute the internet for all divisions. The rooms have VoIP phones as well. Please create the network topology in a Packet Tracer file following the next steps and as shown in Figure 1 of the Network Topology section. Step 1 (20% Mark): Set local account of username and password and set authentication to the consol 0 and vty 0 15 access for all switches. Set a secret password for the privileged mode and make sure all passwords appear encrypted for all switches (Hint: use the command "service password-encryption"). Configure the IP address of Vlan 1 for all switches as indicated in the network topology of Figure 1. Also, disable the DNS lookup process on all switches. Local account: Username: [use your Seneca username], Password: CSN205 Privileged mode secret password: csn205 Console access: local account Line vty password: remote Test the remote access using Telnet from PC6 of Figure 1 to every switch in the network. Step 2 (30% Mark): The access and core switches are supposed to be set for VLANS as in Table 1. Configure the VLANs on the switches as in this table. Screens 1-2 of 4 Table 1 List of VLANs. VLAN 1 10 15 20 25 30 VLAN name/purpose No name, network administration, this is the native/default VLAN Faculty-vlan Registrar-vlan Secretaries-vlan Voice-vlan Students-vlan Interfaces assigned to VLAN Fa0/1-fa0/3, g0/1-g0/2 Fa0/4-fa0/8 Fa0/9-fa0/10 Fa0/11-fa0/14 Fa0/3-fa0/14 Fa0/15-fa0/24 Hint: chapter 8, example 8-8 Step 3 (30% Mark): The access switches connect to each core switch and there is a connection between the two core switches as seen in Figure 1. All these connections between all the switches must be set as trunk and pass the frames of all VLANs between them. Configure all trunk links of the switches. Hint: Chapter 8, VLAN Trunking Configuration Step 4 (10% Mark): Connect one PC to each Fa0/15 interface of each switch belonging to VLAN 30 (Students VLAN). Make sure that those PCs can send ICMP messages (pings) to each other within their VLAN. The IP addresses and subnet masks are noted on the network topology of Figure 1. Step 5 (10% Mark): Check the switches and find the Root Bridge (STP) for each VLAN. Indicate the "Root Bridge VLAN XX" (where XX is an integer number) on the topology beside the related switches. Hint: Use the command: Switch#show spanning-tree Submission: 00 m I +100% File CSN205_Assignment PROTECTED VIEW Be careful-files from the Internet can contain viruses. Unless you need to edit, it's safer to stay in Protected View. Tools View Please submit your Packet Tracer file (PKT file) in the Assignment 1 link. Do not compress (zip) the file. Network Topology: The network topology is shown in Figure 1. All switches use Cisco Catalyst 2960. Hosts PC1 to PC5 are part of the Students-vlan subnet (VLAN 30). Host PC6 is used to test remote access to every switch using Telnet. The mask for all given IP addresses in the network is /24 (255.255.255.0). The IP address of each PC is indicated beside it. The IP address of each VLAN 1 of a switch is also indicated beside the switch.
