A client has asked you, as a technician engineer, to optimise the design of a flour tank

system, as it is not effective. The system is used by a baking company to supply flour to a

bread

The redesigned flour tank system must be manufactured in a batch of ten.

You will research the design and manufacturing requirements that are relevant to the

flour tank system and its use. Your research should consider:

existing designs for tanks, hoppers, feeders and valves

the manufacturing processes and technologies that are being used and

possible alternatives

material requirements and suitable material properties

the health and safety requirements for the product and manufacturing processes

environmental considerations including sustainability

any other relevant factors, such as the application of fittings, fixings and devices,

and methods
