SH Co., as in Question 1 and 2, has been using a small accounting package to manage its enterprise accounting transactions and processes since 2008. However, its package has not been updated to the latest version released by its vendor in 2015. Its database server tends to run slowly. It depends on a small IT team – headed by one IT manager and two IT executives – to maintain and update its accounting systems. As SH Co. has plans to expand across to Vietnam and Indonesia, the CEO believes they require a more robust and powerful accounting system to support their expansion plans. SH Co.’s CEO has designated the IT team to execute this project.
