A manufacturing company produces three kinds of parts. After manufacturing the parts need to be packed in packing station which takes 10 minutes of duration. The company produces the parts and push the parts into three inventories of individual capacity 30 units. So a mix of parts are there in each inventory area and there are dedicated packing machines for each kind of part. In order to segregate parts and send for packing a forklift is used. The forklift will only pick same kind of part from the inventory and is having a capacity of 5 units. Before implementing the picking strategy of forklift the manager wants to test it out and find the throughput using a simulation platform (follow excel sheet for runtime value). Assume unlimited supply of parts in the forklift loading area. The parts are taken to the packing machines via single operator having speed of 3m/min. The operator will pick up parts from Buffers 4,5,6.
