SKILL 2A
DESIGN A CIRCUIT TO PROVIDE BYPASS FLOW
PROCEDURE OVERVIEW
In this procedure, you will design a circuit that will use a check valve in a basic application.
NOTE
If working on the 850-HD1, record any measurements when only one shutoff valve is open. Otherwise, your measurements will not be those expected.
Complete the design of the circuit shown in figure 2a-1 so the cylinder can be reciprocated with a directional control valve. The cylinder should extend at a slow speed (adjustable by the needle valve) and retract at a high speed.
Connect your circuit design on the 850 Series trainer using the small bore cylinder.
Perform the power unit checkout procedures.
Turn on the power unit and increase the relief valve's pressure setting to 3002070kPa.
Open the shutoff valve.
Close the needle valve completely. Then open it 12 turn.
This will set the needle valve for a slow cylinder speed.
