Skill and knowledge application Stuart is the manager of a small work team in the manufacturing industry. He is currently in some difficulty with his boss because he is not achieving the strategic and operational requirements set down for his work group. Stuart has some difficulty understanding this because everyone has performance standards which they are achieving. He was meticulous in following the guidelines from HRM in setting the performance for indiyguals in his group as well as the team as a whole. He was very careful to make sure everyone understood their job descriptions and used them as a basis to build the performance standards. The team was always busy and everyone pulled their weight. Earlier in the week Stuart's boss called by the team and asked how they were doing. He talked about the new customer service focus that was being implemented across the company and wondered how they were going with it.
