Solve the following problem and illustrate/show your solutions by making drawing/sketch either digitally or hand-drawn. (No credit will be given if you don't show your solutions).
You are climbing a 30 deg slope going to a drillpad at the peak of the hill. At elevations 1548mASL and 1555mASL, you encountered the bottom and top respectively of a gently dipping mafic sill. You climbed further to the top at a distance of 43.4m and at elevation 1576.7mASL you reached the peak which is your drillsite. Then as you descend to the opposite side
of the hill, the slope inclination is now at 45deg. and descending at a distance of 27.9m you again encountered the top and bottom of the same mafic sill at elevations 1557mASL and 1550mASL respectively.
1. Calculate the true dip of the gently dipping mafic sill assuming your traverse is directly perpendicular to the strike of the sill (round to two decimal places).
2. Calculate the true thickness of the mafic sill (round to two decimal places).
3. At what vertical depth would the drillhole encounter the top of the mafic sill (round to two decimal places)?
4. At what elevation (mASL) would the bottom of the mafic sill be encountered by the drillhole (round to two decimal places)?
