Some additional information about the 'Applied Project' for our Calculus I course. (1) It should be a word problem that clearly uses concepts we have covered in our Calculus I course. (2) It should relate to a topic that either interests you or is related to your professional / career goal(s). (3) The statement of the problem should not come from a textbook (eg, do not copy a word problem from a Calculus textbook). (4) You can use a science, math, engineering, technology source (eg, article, science related textbook -- just not a Calculus textbook, website, data, or other type of information to provide you with ideas for a topic. If you use other sources (beyond your own primary knowledge) you should cite these sources using a format such as APA (or your preferred citation format). (5) Your grade for the Applied Project will be based on the following: (a) Alignment with concepts in Calculus I [= 30% of your Applied Project Grade]; (b) Accuracy of the solution provided [= 30% of your Applied Project Grade]; (c) Relevance to a field or discipline [= 30% of your Applied Project Grade]; and (d) Originality (eg, not from a Calculus textbook) [=
