Sophie is the HIM director at Medical Center of Alabama. The Medical Center of Alabama is part of a five-hospital chain and two health clinics known as Hometown Health. Sophie earned her RHIA five years ago and is excited about the decision to transition to a virtual department. The medical center has an EHR that will support this transition. Sophie and a few other employees will work with patients, physicians, committees, etc. onsite, while everyone else will work remotely.
