Split the string and trim whitespace in Java.
I'm very new to Java. I wanna split a string so that they are separated only by ' ' and '\t', and then trim start and end whitespace characters.
For example, on splitting " word\f\t", the desired output is "word\f". Also, on splitting " word\t\tcount ", the desired output is a list of "word", "count".
My code is as follow. But it does not work. (the text below is assumed to be the input). Can you help me with it?
Listwords = new ArrayList<>();
String[] tmpWords = text.trim().split(" +|\\t+"); for (String eachWord : tmpWords) { words.add(eachWord); } return words; Step by Step Solution
