spot bias or illogical or unethical arguments in this post? Explain your response and give examples.
The research steps needed to take place before you can make a decision is, first starting off with the Rational Decision-Making Model. This model is a great way to start off in gathering the information about the needs about my firm and to see if would be a great fit for us now and in the future. I need to research if there are other softwares on the market that offer the same type of technology because for all I know this supplier can be putting me on and perhaps maybe some of the add-ons they offer would not be useful to us and then there might be add-ons we need that is not offered in their software package. I believe this supplier will first need to get to know us before actually saying we need their software.
We would need to meet and discuss the inputs (add-ons) necessary for us to design and develop our projects faster. Not one-size-fits-all works for every company as every company is distinct and needs are different. In essence, the supplier will get to know us thereby, putting my hesitation about working with them at ease, if I feel they are really taking into consideration what we are asking for. You can't always trust someone that is selling something with all the bells and whistles as they will always try to make it very enticing because what they are looking for is to make a sale. Once you pay, you will be left holding the bag if the software you purchase isn't all you thought it would be without having done some research on it and how it can help the company be efficient and profitable.
In using qualitative data to help me in my decision to see if this software is adequate, I would like to try it out instead of the supplier showing me a demo. I would need to provide the supplier with our data and explain to him or her how we are currently run our workflow to see if there can be an improvement and if the integrated add-ons offered would help in creating a faster and easier workflow for projects. Using quantitative data, I would need to see how many projects can be created and how many can be completed and the amount of time in order to know if it would be an efficient software to purchase. The difference between these two methods is quantitative deals with numerical sets of data that can be measured or counted and with qualitative, it's based on observations that use the five senses of seeing, feel, taste, hearing and smelling.
In supporting my decision using a primary source, the demo that the supplier is giving I would identify what would be helpful to my company and be able to ask questions directly to the supplier since they are the ones who created the software. As for my secondary source, I would need to see testimonials from the vendors the supplier sold the package to and see what the feedback or the results these vendors achieved by using this software. This information would help me in making an informed decision if it is wise to purchase or not. The difference between primary sources and secondary sources is that information in primary the works are original in nature with taking in account that they are in essence written by first hand. In secondary source(s), it is of a nature of secondhand observation and interpretation of the primary source(s).
