Suggestions on this: your parents' places of work, places you've worked over the summer or currently, friends' places of work, etc. Pick just one business with your team. In my view, you'll need to start making these connections now to set up an interview so that you can submit the PowerPoint and video at the end of Week 5 - Use the SQTC model with Learning Culture in the center to find out the following at that company: - Current safety practices, current performance (metrics), current issues - Current quality metrics - what are the key performance indicators that customers look for - Are they at a six sigma level? -What Quality Management System do they use? - Defects per million opportunities (DPMO) - Quality Perception from customers - what are they saying? - Current throughput - how do do they measure efficiency/productivity? Are they hitting targets? - Cost - How do they address total cost of ownership (TCO) of the material that they buy?
