Stakeholder Interview Reflection For our stakeholder interview, we engaged with Joseph Dakora, a Health Educator working in Sedgwick County, Wichita, Kansas. We selected him based on his direct involvement in community health education and outreach, which aligns with the goals of our health communication campaign. His experience implementing and evaluating local public health programs made him an ideal stakeholder to provide insights on communication strategies, barriers to implementation, and community engagement approaches. We determined that Mr. Dakora was a relevant stakeholder because our project centers on promoting healthy dietary habits and supplement use through culturally sensitive messaging. As someone working on the ground level of public health education, he offered a practical perspective on tailoring messages to fit diverse populations, especially in underserved communities. His knowledge of resource limitations, community trust-building, and message framing added depth and realism to our strategy. There are several other stakeholders we did not have the opportunity to interview but believe could have enriched our project. For example, a dietitian with experience in community nutrition programs would have offered detailed input on supplement safety and efficacy. Additionally, interviewing a representative from a student health services department could have added an academic perspective on how to reach and educate students about dietary decisions effectively. Including voices from these stakeholders would have created a more interdisciplinary view of the issue. Conducting a stakeholder analysis is essential because it helps identify who holds influence or has a vested interest in the success of a project. It ensures that interventions are relevant, sustainable, and contextually appropriate. Stakeholders also provide feedback that may challenge assumptions or improve the design of a campaign, making the project more robust and equitable. Ultimately, stakeholder engagement builds collaboration and trust, both of which are key to successful public health initiatives.
