A second research team comes along and wants to study the same kind of question. They have a bunch of money from the Deep Pockets Do Gooders Foundation. They collect a random sample of 10,000 individuals. They observe a difference in means of .4, with group 1 having an average of 28.9 and group 2 with an average of 28.5. They find that this difference is statistically signicant at the .10 level of analysis and report all the relevant info to the foundation. The Do Gooders Foundation promotes the ndings claiming that there is a statistically significant difference and that these findings are a big deal. What is wrong with their interpretation of the results? Any reason to be more cautious or present the findings differently.
